Saturday: big storm, nice day after
May. 16th, 2020 01:34 pmLast night there was a monster, but quite time limited, storm system that came through. We got a bunch of rain (good for plants and lawns!). Unfortunately, some friends in Groton were much closer to the center of the storm path. Their house was not directly hit, so, yay! But their driveway is blocked, power down, well pump thus not working etc.
So today, R. went over with our generator, water and some other stuff. Meanwhile, I emailed Puzzlescape to reschedule our virtual escape room which was supposed to be this evening with people who currently do not have power, and who are going to be spending the next few days dealing with the downed trees. The cost to them of having professionals come in to cope with the massive trees blocking their driveway is substantial, which is a huge bummer; it is way past what amateurs with chainsaws should tackle. But even after that is dealt with, there will be plenty of chainsaw work.
I do not miss that kind of excitement, which we had a fair amount of when we were still living in NH.
Puzzlescape was awesome; they are helping us reschedule so we can do this when people are not falling over with exhaustion.
I had several pleasant text convos last night post Fancy Friday, and I also had a phone convo with my cousin B. It is good to hear his voice. It was also good to be able to sleep in to make up for going to bed after 1 am.
ETA: As anticipated, my serology test came back negative.
