It is MLK Jr day. This is a sacred time of year. None of us like to think of ourselves as being the oppressor, but entertain the thought that you could move further away from being the problem and closer to being part of the solution you want the world to be. I know I will be thinking about that today.

A. went to a nanocamp at Camp Empow today. Everyone there is sick, too, because everyone is sick everywhere. I brought in a box of tissue to donate to the cause.

T. is with the sitter. I believe they will be seeing Dolittle today.

I have book group this evening. We read _Educated_ by Tara Westover this month. I might update this after our discussion. I would like to believe that this memoir will encourage more mainstream LDS and similar to back away from their uniquely powerful temptations to go down the path of her parents, construing serious mental health problems as spirituality, abuse as instruction and gendered bullshit as something other than gendered bullshit. Most simple interventions in situations like this one do not work well; the problem lies in the layers and layers of enabling.

Also, the next time you are thinking someone is engaging in magical thinking, please calibrate it versus this lot. Wow.

I ran roomba downstairs. Now the popcorn bits in the living room (un-roomba’d because couch height makes that really difficult and just not worth bothering with, so I use the canister in there) are really standing out in sharp relief.

I made blueberry buckle. It is yummy.
