R. went to work. T. went to school. I have not heard from either of them, so I am assuming that is going okay for them.

A. remains at home, as she was still quite ill during the afternoon, and her school has a 24 hour post-vomit rule. She is doing well now, however, and both kids ate breakfast (less than usual, but something!), so I am optimistic that I will get to go to my dentist appointment tomorrow. Really, one has to reschedule a lot of dentist appointments due to illness to truly appreciate getting to actually go to the dentist.

Because we had a couple days post-trip at home, we did some cleaning. I saw a lot of dust. Maybe it was there before, but I noticed it, so we did things like swiffering the walls of the master bedroom. Realistically, I should do T.’s room, too. Since the kids were upstairs sick, I roomba’d the downstairs. I also vacuumed the lliving room and some of the soft furniture. R. ran the mop robot, which seemed to not hold as much charge as it once did. Hmmm.

Today, I am finally catching up on regular laundry. There were a couple days of extra laundry that threw me off my routine.

As a side effect of kids being sick in bathrooms, the upstairs bathrooms are now really clean. Ha ha ha. Not what I wanted. Also, when kids are not eating because they are sick, the benefit of not having to provide them with food is more than canceled out by the extra work associated with illness.

When everyone was finally down for the night (well, not R. — he stays up later than I do), I sat down with my to-do list and did some thinking about what was coming up in the next couple of months. When we were at Disney, A. and I had fun in Galaxy’s Edge NOT doing rides, but other things (yeah, sure, we were crazy and did the light saber build, but just hanging out and watching the interactions was a blast). We expected to do this, and were excited about it, and we bought some minor costume props (a couple jackets, a handbag) and deployed some existing things like a pink cap with a resistance symbol and some disney pins. The porg with the magnet was fun, too. With a bit more prep time, I devoted a lot more organized thought to how I wanted to costume for the next visit, in a way that would be super comfortable for park touring, fit in well (aiming specifically for Rey / scavenger / desert planet), and be wardrobe-able — pieces that could mix and match. It was also fun to sort of extend the universe to draw from past Rey to Rose and Cara.
