T. went with the sitter.
A. had a new day camp, tech and design from Empow, here in Acton. It went well, and K., a friend of hers for some years now, was there in the afternoon, so I got to see him and his mother C. We'll try to set up a playdate at Altitude soon, I hope.
Dutch was canceled. Oh well!
I had book group! I finally got an answer to the Great Mystery of the Page Count! My Alfred Lansing _Endurance_ was under 300 pages. Everyone else's book about Shackleton was over 400. Guess what!?! They were reading a 2014 biography of Shackleton with a totally different title by a completely different author. IKR!?! Mayberry library cocked it up righteous. But that is okay, we love them no matter what. (The cover on the book group event page had the Lansing book.) M., my walking partner, had read the Lansing book. She liked it, but found Shackleton to be an amazingly wacky person. Me, too! M., at book group, found the Michael Smith bio of Shackleton from 2014 to be Catnip. She really loooooves stories of survival, and flawed characters and etc. It was one of our very best conversations _ever_. I love it when book group goes Weird!
I'm standing by my comparison of _Endurance_ to _Kon-Tiki_. This was basically _the same_ reading experience. And I don't think that was an accident. I think it is another Lost Genre, which is sad. I hope it comes back, but with better representation.
