We switched to Royal Pacific, a Jurassic suite. They’ve changed the kids room a bit to look like gyrospheres around the beds. Very smooth arrival, get room cards for Universal Express, go to the parks. We knew about the refrigerators in bell services and planned accordingly.
We did a little in each park, including wands. A. and I had lunch at Mel’s Diner, but she didn’t like the breading on the chicken nuggets. We talked about it a little, and she decided she would try plain chicken when it was an option next.
We had dinner at Mythos. They have significantly upped their cocktail game. I had the pad Thai in vegan form. No issues.
Fast and Furious had a soft open/dress rehearsal. We skipped it when it had a 45 minute wait with no express, but when we heard it had shortened up to 15 minutes, A. and I tried it out. Very much like that section of the studio tour on the West Coast, with a ride vehicle that is virtually identical structurally (thematically different, obviously) to the Kong ride vehicle. Queue theming is nice, and the cast members — Pat and Jaimie — can be either men or women for either one, which is nice.
ETA: I had a fire whisky at the Leaky Cauldron. I think it was just Fireball. Not a great experience.
