A. wanted rainbow ribbon braided into her hair, so I stopped at a couple places in search of that. I bought her some creativity kits (the potholders one with the loom, a kid’s sewing kit, and a make your own hairbow with a rainbow ribbon in it) at The Paper Store. We’ll get out to Michael’s on another day when I have more time.
I cooked the beef with noodles, kale and crimini mushrooms from the Plated box today. I brought it to my Dutch lesson. It really is a 3 person meal, but J. was Elsewhere, so I brought the leftovers home. I was thinking, this really needs some cabbage, but I didn’t have any cole slaw made up and I ran out of time doing other things. Fortunately, A. thinks the way I do and he had kimchee, an even better idea. Super good that way.
ETA: R. and I went to Woods Hill Table and ate at the bar. He had the chicken (modified — couldn’t have the perigord sauce, which is sad) and I had the steak. I had a couple Sazeracs (the fact that I had a second one tells you how good THAT was) and he had the planters punch (bourbon) and a sour beer.
