A. had a snow day; T. did not. We had to transport him and he had no swimming, because Acton-Boxborough closure = CASE transportation closure.

I had a lovely phone call with K. We reschedule from Friday mornings to Tuesday evenings going forward, which required a lot of thinking, because Tuesday is date night, but we should be home and the kids down for the night at that point, so I think it will be good. And it fits in well with her Tuesday evening, as well.

I had a walk with M., after picking up T. and leaving both kids with the sitter. Then T. and the sitter went off to do track and dinner and other things. A. and I stayed home and waited for our play date to arrive. I made M. (not my walking partner) a Brandy Candy (aka The Rosy Drink made with cognac) and she loved it. I was so happy! I made it with the intention of pleasing her and it did! Win! We had a lovely chat while the kids played and eventually the husbands arrived and that was lovely as well. I made M. (the husband of previous M.) a Vieux Carre as promised earlier in the week, and then, when he wanted me to pick something for the next drink, I made him a Remember the Maine. R. was lobbying for a Sazerac and either has a strong Pernod component, but I really wanted to do a Remember the Maine because he tasted and liked the Brandy Candy which has a lot of the same Cherry Heering going on. And he did indeed like the Remember the Maine.

M. (wife) and I. (their daughter) both played the piano! Lovely! So much fun! Altho I. interrupted M. playing and that made me sad because I was dancing and that was awesome. Oh well! There will be more opportunities.

Eventually, it came to an end. We sent a box of clothes home with them. Also a smart cover I found that fit O.'s aging iPad. It doesn't stay on well (honestly, it never did, and those magnets don't age all that well, either). We are all excited (well the adults are!) to get together again next Tuesday (earlier than the phone call -- I was careful, really!).

I also had a great text chat with K. (different K. than phone call) about Anne Bishop's series.

ETA: I had the dregs of some drinks (the brandy candy leftovers and leftovers from the Remember the Maine), as well as two of my own, a Vieux Carre and a Oaxacan Old Fashioned, altho I had to sub simple syrup for the agave nectar. Oh well! And we didn't have reposada for the tequila so we used anejos.

ETAYA: How could I forget! I. brought the Girl Scout Cookies we ordered! So that was dessert. Along with some microwave smores. Their kids had noodles; A. had chicken nuggets. The adults had a cold cuts platter.
