Cheaper, safer and less disruptive, the robots are reminiscent of all those little cleaning and repair bots that run around in space stations and other futuristic environments in SF TV and movies.
Years ago, when my condo association was trying to figure out what was going on with a sewer drain problem, some people sent something along these lines with a camera into the sewer to drive out and see exactly where the problem was, so we could tell whose responsibility it was to dig into the relevant pipe and fix the problem. I’m happy to see that we’ve moved from diagnosis to repair with these little guys.
