We went to Animal Kingdom today. We got to see my sister and her family on and off through the day, including having lunch with her family at Yak and Yeti (the sit down part, not local cafes). Turns out R. has a really hard time there with onion and garlic. I did fine, altho I wound up talking to the chef and picking my third choice. No allergy menu here -- it is not actually operated by Disney apparently. My sister was super excited about the steamer full of dim sum goodies.
For dinner, the adults went to California Grill. There was an allergy menu, and it also had a vegan / vegetarian choose 4 of however many option. Of course I went for that. It was way too much food, but my sister snagged the pasta that was my least favorite and had it for breakfast the next day. She also ordered off the same vegan / vegetarian part of the allergy menu. The kids had a sitter from Kids Nite Out, who was, as always, very wonderful. They went to Chef Mickey's and the sitter was very diligent about using T.'s phone to take pictures, and they went through the photo thing at the beginning so we got those, too. The whole evening went really well. R. was happy not to have to deal with all the noise at Chef Mickey's.
ETA: I should have mentioned! We did Expedition Everest, of course, but we also caught the next Pandora flying ride at park open. They let us in an hour and a half before the park normally opens (1 hour extra magic, but they let us in 30 minutes before that to line up for the Pandora ride). Theming is gorgeous; ride was fantastic. Soarin' type setup, but with a ride-on (saddle set up) rather than sitting in a hang glider chair. Love love loved it. We did the river journey ride later on with my sister. It is an Efteling level "beautiful ride". Very calm and lots to look at, very nice feeling to ride that ride.
ETAYA: A. did the Avatar customized action figure. Very cool, but subtle.
