Backwards and In High Heels
Jun. 10th, 2016 12:33 pmLast night on TRMS, Joy Reid described Warren as having a similar political brand to Sanders, and used the phrase, "backwards and in high heels", a "metaphor" (<-- her word, I would be inclined to call it synecdoche in the original usage and only metaphor when used in a non-dancing context) from the "old Frank Capra" films.

Fred Astaire. Ginger Rogers. If there is a Frank Capra film with Astaire and Rogers in it (and the whole point of the quote requires both Astaire and Rogers to be in the quote at the same time), I don't know it (but please, enlighten me!).
