not better than a poke in the eye

It wasn't a sharp stick, it was part of a gate on the bottom of the stairway at our house in Brookline, NH. A gate I insisted be removed a while ago because I was afraid this would happen (the poke in the eye, part, since it is right about eye height for T.). I _thought_ that B. and R. had collectively concluded I was an overprotective idiot when they reinstalled it for dog control purposes. I now realize they either didn't know the reason or forgot.

So the next time you think I'm too much of a control freak? I'll be thinking of this incident and thinking I'm not control freaky enough.
