I ran across his name in Gottman's books, and now I see him referenced again in _How To Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk_ (I may have mangled that slightly). Those and Cohen's _Playful Parenting_ all are fairly similar in approach, altho Gottman and Cohen are explicitly more about helping the kiddies with emotions, whereas the Faber/Mazlish book is more about verbal transactions and behavior. Gottman and Faber/Mazlish are mostly verbal; Cohen isn't nearly as much. All share basic ideas about empathy, treating kids with respect, meeting them in their own space so they'll be more able to meet us in ours, etc.

I'm thinking I should drill back down to the source of all this goodness. But mostly I'm feeling like I've got the beginnings of a strategy for Never Becoming My Own Parents, even by accident. Much.
