Teddy was born via C-section at Group Health at about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday August 17th, 8 pounds, 7 ounces, 21 inches long. He is extremely healthy and breastfeeding well. We left the hospital on the evening of Friday the 19th, and while there have been some concerns (big gap in poopy diapers after we left the hospital until my milk came in, my blood pressure went back up and in an effort to eliminate PIH as an explanation we discovered I'm pretty durned anemic now as a result of blood loss during labor and during the C-section), none of them have been of any significance in the larger scheme of things. Of course that does NOT stop new parents from panicking, or, for that matter, the health care pros involved.
Of course, being who I am, I will be writing up all the gory (heh. I mean that more or less literally, I guess) details in hopefully near future. However, as I'm sure all of you who have had new babies know, we're a little tired still. I apologize for the long delay in updating and hope that I'll be able to get back here soon.
Many thanks to the birth posse, and to the helpful visitors who have done things for us over the past weekish.
