T. had his in vehicle evaluation with the OT A. from CMSC (Central Mass Safety Council). They went over to the K-Mart parking lot and drove around there a bit. It went really well, so he’ll start lessons after we get the written evaluation back, and call them to schedule. Very exciting!

We canceled the sitter today, and I took T. to track. After that, we went to The Tack Room. We had a good conversation on the way to track about things in the news. I had been very upset about things he had repeated from Faux News, and I went over with him at a very high level the things I’m going to cover with both kids in the curriculum I am assembling (the idea that there are many paths from fertilized ova that cannot possibly lead to a living baby, adult lives are complicated and a pregnancy and baby do not always fit into those lives at arbitrary times, agonizing medical things happen, and giving a baby up for adoption is a choice that should never be characterized as “easy” with many people who give birth agonizing over that decision for decades — people who suggest that this is an easy swap are heartless demons from hell who should not be listened to). He seems to grasp the basic idea that given how much can happen, a totally judgment free zone for the first trimester, followed by Keep the Government Out of the Decision thereafter, is a much better approach than trying to involve more people in what is fundamentally a ludicrously complicated set of choices. Hopefully, we can build on this foundation in a way that will inoculate him against the people out there who traffic in distortions and lies designed to oppress and abuse those who have the power to produce new life.
