walkitoutA. seems to have the same lower GI problems that dogged me in Florida. She’s mostly better, but we need 24 hours post symptoms, so she’s home today. I canceled my Dutch lesson.
Also, the electrician arrived and installed a Ring Pro doorbell and 10 Nest Protects (wired). Fancy! Of course the kids promptly complained about the Pathlight feature, but the app works pretty well so that’s good. Fingers crossed we won’t be dealing with chirping smoke detectors for at least a few years. Ideally, close to 10.
My MIL arrived. She flew in and took a taxi, and brought cash to pay the taxi so I didn’t have to do anything. Very nice!
I had book group. We discussed _A Long Walk to Water_, which I had picked out based on my son reading it last year in social studies. It’s really good! Everyone liked it. A. got the author’s other books on wildly different topics and says they are also really good. If you want to read an informative, YA non-fiction book, you can’t do any better than this.
We also had a long-ish political conversation that was wonderful and a breath of fresh air. You really don’t get to say that too often!
