It was cloudy. When we got out to the car to leave to drive up to Roosevelt for the stage coach, I noticed a lot of people wearing shorts. It _had_ been quite warm the previous days. R. went back to get jeans and a jacket on his own. I had to send him back to get T. pants because T. wouldn't go. He felt like a jacket was enough. Ha! It started _hailing_. My sister's family (other than my sister) was all in shorts. I pointed out that hypothermia was a real risk.

We stopped at Norris to see the falls. We stopped _first_ to change the rest of people into pants (I insisted only that they be in the car, not that they change first), and then to buy ponchos for those without rain jackets and hoodies for the girls who didn't have warm jackets. Then we trooped out the 150 yards to the falls, took pictures while trying not to step in puddles, and continued on to Roosevelt. We rode the stagecoach. We were _really_ happy to have warm clothes. The wildflowers were pretty. The coach was much more comfortable than I had anticipated. The rain dropped down to a drizzle. If T. hadn't been bugging me non stop to tell him something my sister had shared with me in confidence, it would have been really pleasant. In the event, it was something of a mixed experience.

We had lunch at Roosevelt. Note to those with allium issues: just about everything has onion in it.
I had the chili. It was tasty. We bought some books at the shop while we were waiting.

We got more, better pictures at the pass on the way back. Cell service is better on Washburn than a lot of the rest of the park.

I. passed on the stagecoach. We did meet her for dinner in the evening at M66. She had great pictures. She's been getting lots of wildlife shots in Lamar Valley.
