I took T. to martial arts.

After that, we went to the Marlborough Best Buy to try to do a same day screen replacement repair. Alas, I misunderstood the website, and didn't learn otherwise until after I'd spent quite a while waiting first for the appointment and then for the woman to remove the screen protector. Which was pointless, because they weren't going to repair it anyway; they were going to send it away to someone who would. No thank you.

Best Buy now sells a lot of stuff that I had previously thought you could only buy online: Google Home and Alexa devices. They also sell more expectable stuff like portable speakers that attach to your device. And they let you try out expensive headphones. We bought some wemo switches, an August keypad which T. had been wanting, and I got a Belkin wireless charger for my phone. So, the relevancy to me quotient of Best Buy is waaaaay better than a few years ago. They also have a bunch of nursery related stuff that is "Smart" -- changing table and scale and I think it might have an app even; one of those things for heating up baby food only with some "smart"s to it. All kinds of great stuff. I would not bet on Best Buy going out of business any time soon.

We had lunch at home. I puttered. R. took T. to a different apple store which we set up an appointment at (it was way further than we wanted to go, to get an appointment today instead of next week). Once there, it was going to be three hours to do the screen and the battery replacement. Oh well! At least T.'s Otterbox leather folio case arrived, so I have some confidence that the new and improved version of his phone will survive. I blame his new leather case for the screen breaking. His Claire's cases had huge bumpers that made the phone bounce when dropped, which is kind of cool.

A. and I had dinner at Julie's Place. I continue to putter. In addition to the phone case arriving, a bunch of A.'s replacement clothes arrived, so I am packing up the size 14s to go to a friend, and cleaning the size 16s prior to her wearing them, and then also buying more things in size 16 that she will likely need soon. It is Wrong that a 9 year old be as tall as she is. I mean, not really, but jeez.

ETA: the parenting websites say there is a girl growth spurt between 10 and 14. She really is likely to wind up taller than us.

ETAYA: Oh, and in unfortunate interactions of trends, I very carefully bought a phone case that would hold a couple cards (ID, CC) and would still work with a wireless charger. Very Carefully. What I failed to consider was the fact that the card I wanted in that case is _metal_. Because metal credit cards are a Thing. *sigh* For now, I'm removing the card from the case before popping it on the wireless charger. But this does seem to defeat the purpose of grab-and-go. I just don't really want to quit using that particular card as my default card. I may wind up buying another case after all.
