It was about compliance with a medical treatment. And I think that makes a difference.

However, now that you've brought up that NPR piece, I just want to draw attention to this:

"The legal profession has twice the addiction rate of the normal population, he says." (Dude running a Hazelden center that focuses on lawyers and judges.)

A brief pause while you try to come up with a good lawyer joke out of this. All right, done having fun at other people's expense? Because I know I rarely tire of that! But moving on.

Honestly, this right here might explain a lot of why there are so many aspects of our legal system that interfere with detecting and pressuring addicts to receive treatment.
