Transplanting a Seattleite

Oh, yes, I really hate it when someone tries to convince me that I should like something that they love that I happen to not enjoy. Ugh. "Wants don't have whys" is a good thing for me to remember.

Sometimes I have felt pressured to do something that experience tells me I will hate doing, and I forget that I can just say no. So I make a policy for myself that states, for example, that I don't go to wedding or baby showers. I really,really dislike these events. Having thought about this in advance helps me to decline without making excuses.

Also, thanks for suggesting "Tools not Rules." I am going to contemplate this.
