No hangover, but definitely not enough sleep. I drove A. in. I walked with M. I read Richard Osman’s Thursday Murder Club for book group. I did book group and that was an enjoyable chat. We picked The Light Eaters for next month, because J. is trying it, and I bought it over a year ago so why not.

BC’s grandfather was living in Bakersfield from 1947ish to sometime in the 1950s, probably until he died. Lots of evidence of where he was living (consistent address, at a house that was built in 1910, and still exists now, but is a really weird address that does not have a +4 for its zipcode), but that address is absolutely not present in the 1950 census. That address plus a 1/2 is present in the 1940 census. I have not checked earlier (and will have to wait to check later). This is a new one for me. I often cannot find my people because of spelling, transcription or indexing errors, but the address not being where it should be is an entirely new experience for me. I’ll be telling this story in genealogy nerd-offs until I’m too old and de-mented to recall it.
