Sunday at the museum
Jul. 27th, 2025 10:50 pmI took AY out for Starbucks and then we headed to Burlington to visit furniture stores, but I decided why not go to Isabella Stewart Gardner instead. Well, I’ll tell you why not. Everyone else had the same idea and they were sold out. But that’s okay, MFA is right there, and they had timed entry tickets for their Van Gogh / Roulin portraits exhibit so let’s go. It was interesting. Some of the portraits of Marcelle with the dotted background I think were practice for that self-portrait of him we saw in Paris with the shadow-box effect. Also, I finally grasped the timing on the falling out with Gauguin, and the ear and Gauguin going to Tahiti.
AY bought a t-shirt and a sweat shirt and the sweat shirt was awesome. Which is good, because we 3 pm meal at 110 Grill in Maynard and it’s always freezing there. I got the hot honey chicken sandwich, which they are able to do with no milk products (with onion strings) and it was really tasty. She ditto’d by drink order, and I pointed out it was alcoholic which she isn’t typically doing currently so they made her a regular arnold palmer which looked really good actually.
I continue to dis-assemble Himeji castle. Looks like E. is going to take the Vespa and Natural History, so when Himeji is dis-assembled, I’ll probably do Natural History Museum next.
Tomorrow is airport day. I’ll probably drop off A. and R. will probably pick up T. Time is separated by about 6 hours, so it’s possibly I’ll wind up doing both.
