Someone picked up the Do It Herself toolkit early this afternoon, and just now, the vice principal from A.’s second elementary school showed up to pick up the swim fins for his daughter. She’ll get to use them in Florida next month, apparently. I hope they have a delightful time!

Hopefully the craft kits will be leaving the house soon.

I took the still kinda beany peanut butter and made three ingredient cookies with them. I ate 6 of the 15. They were awesome. They did not tasty beany at all. I guess that tells me how long they need to roast.

ETA:

A. found the peanut butter cookies to be a little too intensely flavored. This has happened with other variations of these cookies before, so I am not especially surprised. I’d eaten the last of the Bouchards with the mint, so I showed her the andes mints and while they are obviously not as good as the mint Bouchards, they are pretty tasty and she liked them. I did feed her a real dinner (burger, lettuce, strawberries, chocolate milk and I think maybe there was a mandarin, too).

It sounds like there was very little drama with the dentist outing post-school. I was happy not to be involved, altho I did email the school to ask for them to turn her loose a half hour early because the scheduling was a little tight. They got there 10 minutes early, so I think I got that about right.

I finished Casey Blair’s Diamond Earth series and it was fun. I’m now reading the latest from Jenny Schwartz, “Stars Die”, and I also have a Casey Blair to follow it up with, “When Legends Spark”. And I pre-ordered some stuff, too, which gives me things to look forward to.

The craft kits have left the house.

Also, I found a Rev a Shelf in the basement that we had intended to install in the lower cupboard where we keep the oil. It will make it so the oil can’t be there any more, which may be why this was always a low priority. It would have been better to have a single pullout, but the oils are backstock for the ones on the countertop for the most part, so they can go live in the pantry. We’ll figure it out. I finally talked R. into letting me toss the Contadina pizza sauce, bought for T., and several years past best-by date and rejected repeatedly by T. It has onion and garlic so R. can’t eat it, and the sodium is too high for me. I also tossed, sadly, some red curry paste. Again, allium means no for R., and the lemon grass and sodium makes it bad for me.

ETA still more:

R. drilled more holes in the rev a shelf standards, allowing him to lift the upper tray above the oil container heights. So the oil is back in that cabinet, and way, way, way more accessible. My bulk tea backstock is in the upper tray (beverage cabinet is the upper cabinet above this base). I could not be happier. A box is out of the basement. A project that was delayed by maybe a decade was finally completed. It’s now really easy to see everything in the pantry.

Oh, and someone is supposed to pick up the ice bucket tomorrow. Woot!
