Friday the thirteenth
Dec. 13th, 2024 11:00 pmI woke up at a few minutes to 7 so I could do a bit of vacation related planning at the moment the window to do so opened. Fortunately, I had discussed the matter with Not BIL the night before, so I actually had confidence and could proceed, which was nice.
I went to the dentist.
I picked up A at fusion and drove her to an indoor glow in the dark mini golf place at Northshore Mall. Yesterday, she dropped her water bottle in the dirt during a fire drill. I cleaned it in the sink at Fusion, but used the hand soap and it had a slight fragrance. She really hated that and wanted a clean water bottle. I went to Jersey Mike’s at her request to get her some, but boy, were there some unmet needs all around. I picked up a sandwich for me, chips for both of us, 2 water bottles for her and got her to use the restroom.
I hung out in the mall, and chatted with K. It was a really calming and enjoyable conversation. I looked around Nordstrom’s a bit, but where they used to have a good shoe selection in 10 and up, not really so much now, which is fine. I buy everything on line anyway. I just figured, for old time’s sake, I’d try shoe shopping in person. Mistake!
It took a long time to get home. I did FF, and that was nice. But also, I got really frustrated with A. and with R., because there are just so many random demands on me, and my sleep keeps getting disrupted, and my short term memory is really suffering as a direct result. Most notably, A.’s earbuds aren’t working well, and she’s binging the Murderbot books, and her other earbuds are even worse, and she hadn’t told me so I couldn’t order replacements. I hate when people get to their last copy of a thing, without telling me they are on the last so that I can order replacements. I mean. If you know things wear out / get used up? If you know you want continuous access to them? This is not magic!
I got to bed at a reasonable time after FF. I do not have to get up early on Saturday. Hopefully, I’ll catch up a bit on sleep.
