Thursday: Did Not Participate in Morning
Nov. 16th, 2023 07:32 pmI mean, I got up before noon and met with someone whose organization I give money to. I made an extra sourdough english muffin for her and we shared a pot of tea. Delighful! But A. and R. got through the morning routine without my involvement at all. He has been making her breakfast (which involves heating up waffles that I premake, among other things) and lunch (which involves granola that I premake, among other things) for a while now, which is great, but I had been making sure she got out of bed some mornings, and I had been doing her hair. However, with the latest haircut (took her to Moodz yesterday afternoon), she’s now apparently getting through that either entirely on her own, or with R.’s help, which previously had led to a lot of conflict. Fingers crossed this continues! He also walked over and walked her back home today, so, yay! Obviously, when he was down in Florida I was dealing with all of this on my own; it’s nice to know _he_ can get through this on his own.
Also, sleeping. Yay!
I walked with M.
I had a phone conversation with J.
Report cards arrived. I don’t really care what they get on their report cards, as long as I see evidence that learning is happening, and they continue to surprise me in pleasant ways with their grades. T. went to his Unified Basketball celebration; he supplied plates, utensils, cups and cupcakes (he acquired the cupcakes and plates; the rest we had already). I’m pretty pleased with what a helpful young man he is!
