Monday: school, pictures, phone call
Sep. 11th, 2023 10:57 pmSchool! T. drove himself and A. to and from school. Yay! They fought on the way home. Oh well! Siblings. Nobody got physical and car was not involved in anything untoward. I’m calling it a win.
We went to Nara and had our pictures taken. Yay! We even got through it all before the rain. Woot!
I had a long phone call with A. She’s been in a residential setting for a few weeks, and it seems to have been very good for her, so, yay! I love her. I’ve known her for a really long time. And my heart aches for her, because she really struggles with a lot of difficult things from her childhood. She’s one of the most resilient people I have ever met. Sometimes, resilience really has some costs.
I made granola. (ETA: I am still a little confused how I became the person who makes blondies, waffles and granola on a regular basis, like, when they run out, I make another batch. How. How am I this person.)
There was more rain this evening.
We got A. through her homework.
I’m about ready for bed.
I started reading _Six of Crows_ by Leigh Bardugo which everyone else has already read. I’m torn. On the one hand, that is some _solid_ Dutch representation. OTOH, it’s clear that there is gonna be some trauma in this book. So, I just don’t know. As near as I can tell, if I commit to reading this, I’m committing to reading the other part of the duology, or I’m ending on a not great note. I just don’t know. But maybe. The Dutch representation is pretty amazing.
