Monday: travel planning
Feb. 6th, 2023 11:00 pmWell, the summer travel planning is in full swing. I’ve been in communication with R.’s cousin, to make sure that when we arrive in her city, she’ll be there. She will be there … until she’s not. I made a tiny adjustment to my plans and then carried on.
Next up: my second cousin. He and his family will definitely be in their home town when we plan to visit! Yay!
After that, it was a straightforward matter of getting Dutch structured stays (you can only check in on certain days of the week, and there are weird set lengths of stay as well) to line up properly. Which they kinda did, because I’ve had to deal with this before and apparently absorbed some of the lessons.
I’ve got plane tickets and hotel stays for one trip, and hotel stays for another trip. I haven’t bought the other planet tickets, because while I knew which flights I want and on which dates, I cannot convince the multi-city option to do it for me, because the cities don’t match — there’s non-air travel legs in between. I don’t want to have to pay the higher rate by doing this all as one-way travel, so I’m going to call the airline and see what they can do for me, but I’m going to do it while the kids are at school to minimize distractions.
