1st UO park day for A. and me
Dec. 30th, 2022 11:00 pmWe got up pretty early (I got up around 6:30, and she got up closer to 7). I had noticed the night before that the concierge lounge has a toaster. Yay! So I’m continuing to eat my own groceries, as I brought PB, jam, spread and the Ezekiel’s cinnamon raison bread along to this hotel and shoved it in the fridge with some fruit and veg.
Unfortunately, Hagrid’s motorbike was delayed. *sigh* We did Forbidden journey. We did the Jurassic Park flume ride. A. said it was a combination of boring and terrifying. We skipped kong / skull island because the express line was running about 45 minutes !!!. We did Spiderman. We did Acceletron, which we basically never have done before (I’m not sure I knew it was there). We did Cat in the Hat and the tram in Seuss land. We briefly tried to stand in line for Poseidon’s Fury, but A. was not tolerant so we bailed out and ran into my sister’s family on the way in.
We had lunch with my sister’s family at Confisco Grill. After, we went over to the Marvel vacation planning kiosk and added the third day on their park tickerts. Then we went over to the Studio side (walked), and did Minions, Transformers and ET. In Minions, we got screwed. We were right behind my sister, but she asked for 4 seats and B.’s efforts to get her attention failed. It was sorta corrected, but then when we all went in, we were in a different row (fine) and got screwed by how other people chose to sit and wound up sitting separately. Staff noticed and was grateful that we fixed it without their help and gave us. . . Free Express passes! Which we absolutely had no use for because we’re staying at RPR and already have all you can eat express. BUT it was nice to get an atta-person for it.
We were tired, so A. and I went back to the hotel. Dinner was at Islands. We got A. the general tso’s, with sauce and veg separated. She ate all the chicken and I ate a bunch of her veg.
After dinner, R. took A. to the swimming pool. After swimming, A. and I each had showers (I did not go swimming. I enjoyed being alone in the quiet room).
