We were told last night not to come over before noon, so we slept in. I got up around 9ish and started getting ready. The coffee maker in the room is missing the little tray thing that the coffee could go in, but it still heats water, so I convinced it to make me hot water for tea (I brought tea — it’s almost the last of the Salada tea I bought in Vermont a couple years back when I forgot to bring tea with me). When we got over to the K.’s house, I got A. and I some breakfast. I had brought a couple waffles, a couple english muffins, some marmalade, peanut butter, bananas, berries, etc. I forgot the kids’ vitamins. Ooops. It all worked out fine.
There was the usual crackers, salami, cheese board for lunch / snacks. I did ask for mustard; I should have asked for something else, or eaten some of the berries and fruit I brought. Oh well!
Dinner was awesome! There were 6 kinds of stuffing, to account for a variety of dietary constraints. I got the vegan stuffing plus boudin. The boudin was heavenly — the vegan stuffing was really good on its own. There was a vegan shepherd’s pie and vegan mashed. There was brown meat in a pan, and turkey roulades. All very, very, very good. Cranberry sauce. Squash soup. Biscuits. Brussel sprouts and green beans. Vegan mushroom gravy. The kids ate turkey (both of them!) and biscuits and A. even tried the mashed potatoes when I explained that they are like the insides of fries.

I got a two ish mile walk with my SIL and R.’s cousin H., over at the reservoir.
We opened all three bottles of the Bledsoe I’d brought. The Elizabeth (chardonnay, half oaked half in metal, and apparently it is a good replacement for white burgundy?) was awesome, and I also really liked the Family Wine. The Cabernet Sauvignon blend was a bit much — really, really good, and also not exactly what I’m looking for.
Really good T-day.
