Parking lot is super empty this morning; most of those cars were here for the wedding and not overnight guests. It’s pretty, bright and not hot today. R. found his go-cup. It was in his luggage from the Niagara Falls trip. Ha! He has since misplaced the replacement. I feel like the Luck is messing with him at this point.

I wasn’t going to do any cooking this trip, however, I did bring banana bread and banana muffins (a little too much batter). I had one with tea (I brought bags) and a bowl of fruit (from hotel breakfast). My muffin was definitely safer for me than the bread or english muffin (salt, possibly inclusion of milk products) and I’m convinced that it was also tastier. Very nice breakfast! I tried to get hot water out of the Keurig, but it came out with coffee bits and lukewarm, so I switched to the microwave. That got hot enough to make tea.

ETA:

I drove the kids over to Cape Cod mall with the understanding that we would be trying Very Hard to charge the i4, and also get lunch and possibly do some shopping. Everyone was good with the plan.

I had made sure I had current accounts set up at EvGo, Chargepoint, PlugShare. I had been thinking I’d go over to the park and ride, but then realized those were slow chargers. So the mall was it. I _forgot_ to download any of the apps onto my phone (I had been using my ipad because Keyboard). Also, I had to set privileges to use cellular for the app. I was really struggling to get it to log me in. I finally blew away the session and retried by launching through LastPass. That did really weird things, so I gave up on that, went back to the app, and it worked this time. I was able to monitor the charging session via the BMW app. I did not expect it to charge to 100%, but it stopped at 83%, which was a bit of a bummer, but not really a problem. This should be plenty to let us do what we want around here and then return home, stopping at SwymFit for A.’s lesson if time gets tight. I _think_ this is the first time I’ve successfully charged Other Than At Home (obviously, the dealer has charged the car successfully as well).

We had lunch at Not Your Average Joe’s. We haven’t been to one of those in a few years. It was fine.

We walked through the mall, but didn’t really attempt to do real shopping. We were just looking around a bit.

A. and I sat around our comfy hotel room reading. She’s on a kindle, and I’ve been going through magazines — Disney Files, Catalyst from UCS, Edible Boston, and NYG&B’s Researcher.

I never read these. I let them stack up and then I recycle them in a fit of annoyance. They are kinda fun to read, but I pretty much never have them with me when I have some time. I can’t decide what I should do about this.

Also, T. called his grandfather, and we were in the room with him (ours was being cleaned), so we all sang happy birthday to him.

ETA: We had dinner at Ember. We got there later than I had hoped (around 6) so it was already getting somewhat busy and A. was cranky because she was hungry and _I_ was cranky because I was hungry and also if I’d known it was going to be that long after I asked for an ETA, we could have had some banana bread to tide us over.

R. and I had drinks at The Port. They were awesome, and there was a gentleman next to me at the bar who wasn’t with anyone and who was willing to chat. We had a wide ranging conversation that was very enjoyable.
