Monday: marmalade
May. 9th, 2022 09:15 pmI made marmalade. I had a bag of mandarins that my sister left with me when she went home from Wirtz. They were not awesome, so I picked out the best few to leave for my daughter’s lunches, and then converted the rest to marmalade, along with a metric f-ton of sugar. I use the pith for pecton. I never cut the rind/zest up enough. Oh well! I also found more frozen rind in the freezer, and since the first attempt did not work out great (too runny — not enough sugar and it did not jell), I restarted with a lot more sugar (the afore mentioned f-ton). _That_ worked out great.
The wheat grains continue to sprout. They should be ready tomorrow or the day after, which means I’ll need to figure out what I am doing next.
I walked with M. Other M. and I both forgot our Monday walk. Again. We’ll try again tomorrow. I watched a bunch of TV.
