It occurred to me about a half hour ago to wonder if there was a Macy’s T-Day Parade. There was! And it was one. And we turned it on just in time to catch it from Pentatonix on. Really lovely! I particularly liked the Rockettes’ routine and their Nutcracker masks.

The turkey is in the oven. It is from Walden Meats and was delivered Tuesday. R. put some salt on it, because it has not had any salt or brine or water or broth or anything done to it. He started neck broth. I put some bread in the air fryer and made croutons / stuffing cubes, and then went through the veggie drawer getting out veg and herbs for the stuffing. We also used a couple maple breakfast sausages (also Walden) in the stuffing, along with raisins and dates and walnuts. Smelled pretty yum!

R. also put the celery root (2 small) in the oven with the bird; we will mash it later. That came from Imperfect Foods. He has liked mashed celery root at restaurants, but this will be a first for us. Some time soon, I will start making sides.

We invited the sitter to come pick up a plate / hang out for a half hour (she is alone this T-day); I told her we did not feel comfortable sitting at a table for hours with her, because we could be sick and not know it and would be devastated if we made her ill. She was understanding. This is a tough day / weekend for her — she had hoped to have her son and DIL visit, and had planned to attend a couple of parties, however, everything was canceled due to various people getting Covid, which is sad and terrifying and expected, all at once.\

It is raining, so M. and I probably will not walk, however, she will probably come over for a brief visit. And that will be it for our out-of-the-household plans for the day.

I’m running a 12 hour zoom today to let anyone who wants to drop in, because scheduling is weird today. I am now two hours in and crickets. No attendees and no one texting / calling / emailing to say they tried to get in and failed. Probably everyone will show up at the exact same time and it will be delightfully chaotic.
