A. had 4 zoom calls today. There was the every two weeks zoom call. There was the weekly zoom call. There was a talent show. And there was the daily call. Excitement! And yet, despite all that, she was done with everything by the end of the last zoom call — it was a light week for school work, she had worked on it diligently all week, and she did her daily assignments today (mostly flocabulary but also prodigy) either before breakfast or during lunch. I was very impressed! She took a break for a while and is now reading another chapter of Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle’s Farm.

I paid second quarter estimated taxes. I know I could have delayed, but why?

I canceled my sister’s half of an upcoming trip. While nothing has changed, it turns out that the people (and I am not saying who exactly that is, because I am honestly a little uncertain still) who enthusiastically said, No I Am Fine With Getting On A Plane and Then Immediately Going Back to Work decided maybe not so much. I tried to get them to that point before buying their plane tickets. I have learned from this experience and, to be fair, I have the credit from the flights for use until the end of 2021.

The martial arts studio is opening up soon. I emailed with Renshi about when T.’s lesson would be, and explained about the flight situation. His comment was, we will call it a 3 person protest and that will make it okay. I told him I would bring a sign. (Now I need to make a sign.)

T. and I received our bibs and ribbons for the LoveLane virtual walk/run this weekend. Also, AJ sent an email about possible group runs for Team Verge this summer. Once T. got over the This Is Not The Way It Works moment (usually, no summer track because people are overcommitted with other stuff), he was pretty excited about it.

I had an interesting convo with my not BIL about whether we should try to plan a trip that everyone would feel comfortable / able to go on, since it is looking like the flight / 14 day thing could be true for a while. If their cruise in August is delayed / canceled, that week lines up with a beach week I still have not canceled, so that is a definite maybe. Probably that is about as certain as anything gets these days.
