I made pineapple upside down cake. Honestly, it was the highlight of my day, even tho my son was being an epic jackass (inadvertently) while I was making it. After it was made, it tasted delightful, which made up for a lot of the rest of today.
Daughter posted a meme on padlet to her class share. The meme of was someone setting their computer on fire as part of an epic rager. She was expressing her frustration with the daily math challenge, and how happy she was not to have to do it for the next three days. The teacher deleted, while noting in later communication that she thought it was really funny and has zero issues with the emotion being expressed. Apparently, towards the end of the animation, the character shoots itself in the head. Obviously, a non-starter in a school context.
I was supposed to have my hair cut and colored tomorrow, but the kids will not be in school (not even non-school at home — the teachers have the day off for some complex scheduling reason I give zero shits about and thus do not fully understand). That and social distancing advice caused me to reschedule the hair appointment to later in April (may or may not happen then who knows). So I have hair falling in my eyes and making me touch my face. I am at home, so I do not really care about the face touching, but it is bugging me and I own really nice barrettes so I got one out and tucked my hair back out of the way. I used a mirror; it actually looks quite cute. But the kids have never seen a barrette apparently, or at least never paid any attention, and so my daughter is calling it derpy and my son was a jackass about it.
My walking partner, M., however, delivered a very sweet compliment. So, whatevs, children. I do not care.
We walked in the afternoon, so the rain was down to a light drizzle. When M. tried to dry her glasses, a lens fell out. R. was able to get it back in and secure it, and tightened up the other one then cleaned her glasses. She was happy.
I did not make T. take a zyrtec last night, because he has been arguing about everything. Today, he wanted an inhaler, which of course is trapped in the school nurse’s office. *sigh* We did get a replacement from the pharmacy, fortunately. He used the other one in the meantime, and I talked him into eating actual fruit and veg in an effort to help him stay healthy. I also gave him a zyrtec, and talked him into not lying down flat in his bed.
The kids were having a ton of fun with school at home. Hopefully, they were just off their game from the weather, because weeks of a day like today would really not be fun.
