Busy day!
We went to Animal Kingdom. We hurried to get onto Flight of Passage, because the FP for that would guarantee no afternoon break at the hotel and thus we would have had a 12 hour plus day. No good! The line was longer than anticipated, and Priestess did fit on the ride (whew) but then got motion sick. *sigh* Oh well! Probably should have just done the Safari FP. Lesson learned
The line for the boat ride was crazy, so we did not even try.
We had an FP for Expedition Everest. It was fun.
We had lunch at Yak & Yeti. That was tasty.
We did the Caring for Giants Elephant thing. It was okay, altho I think disappointing to some of the group and involved a fair amount of standing around.
After that, we went back to the hotel by bus to rest briefly, before going to Disney Springs. We tried to get the ferry, but it was closed due to lightning, so we went by bus. We did get to Rainforest Cafe in time, and that went okay. Not great, but okay. I was momming people pretty hard to try to discourage overeating (I figure if I drag people out to this many restaurant meals, I am somewhat responsible for the overeating that is almost inevitable, and I was trying to convey what I have learned over the last few years about defensively ordering to avoid the worst of the effects, and pausing partway through to deal with the effects as well). It realllllly sucks when people wind up hurting themselves with food and can have significant impact on the rest of the group (especially if it gets bad). But in this case, I was quite worried about going into a VR experience with all the strapped in and potentially disoriented potential on top of too much food and alcohol. It turned out fine.
We did the Ralph experience again. I love that so much.
R. met us there, and drove some of us back. This was an error, because we had 7 people, and the bike was in the back, so seats had to be rearranged and there was conflict. This was the worst moment of the trip. I really need to remember NOT to try to bring additional people in the van with us, because there is not truly enough space and honestly, it would be better to get a taxi or take the bus or ride share. Lesson learned.
