Wednesday: long division makes people cry
Oct. 16th, 2019 05:02 pmI told my daughter this, when long division made her cry. As with most people I have informed of this fact, she was initially skeptical. But I have seen many people, including grown people, cry when forced to do long division. It is true. Long division makes people cry. It helped her feel better to know this, also a very common phenomenon I have seen many times.
I had a walk with J. She picked up the Melissa & Doug easel that got sporadic use over the years. It was a lovely present from A. (R.’s sister) for T., when he was quite young. However, motor planning and fine motor issues meant that it did not get a lot of regular use. But it kept occasionally being used up until this past year, when T. was using it as sort of a Keep Out Of My Room or These Are My Rules sign board.
But he is past that now, and just locks his door so, whatever. It has gone on to reduce fighting between J.’s children, who will now each have their own easel. She had mentioned they both love to draw, and I initially offered her sketchbooks (we have a ton), which she enthusiastically said yes to, and then when I was collecting them last night, I thought, wow, I have a couple easel pads. And an easel. Hmmmm.
I also drove to Savers and dropped off horse riding boots that have been outgrown, and Bog rainboots that have been outgrown, and a bag of clothes. House is looking pretty good right now!
I also walked with M., and walked to pick up A., so I got a fair amount of exercise today.
