Saturday: party
Sep. 21st, 2019 11:00 pmBig day!
I took T. to martial arts and Vics. R. took him to yoga. Meanwhile, I realized I had no birthday cake candles. Ooops! I got some at the Paper Store. I almost bought a bunch of them, but restrained myself to the pink polka dot pack of 12.
I vacuumed the porch in case people decided to go out there.
I vacuumed the stairs, and the living room, and more generally anywhere that looked like it needed it. Should have done more to prepare! Oh well.
I set up the food and had it all out before people arrived, and the oven heating up for the chicken nuggets. The party went great. The expected parents stayed (and I convinced M. to stay, even tho she would otherwise have done drop off); everyone else did drop off. I fed them. They played. They ate cake. They ate a LOT of popcorn, and watched Ugly Dolls. Movie was done at 7:30 so A. opened presents. G. found A.’s Switch and spent the party playing with that. A. played with a lot of the usual toys (this is former horseriding partner, not my daughter). Food tasted good, altho I had way too much of it, which is also okay.
We got everything cleaned up by around 9 pm. I was totally exhausted, but that is always how I feel after I have a party. Good times!
