Slightly early happy solstice!
Dec. 20th, 2009 12:50 pmWe decided that since we were snowed in and it was Sunday and the one scheduled activity (T.'s horseback riding lesson) was canceled, it would be a great day to celebrate Winter Solstice. We opened presents. I took some pictures of the kids and the snow (through the window). We shoveled and R. got the snow blower out. I read a picture book out loud to the kids about winter solstice. It was nice. It was also very quiet.
One of the gifts was _Walter the Farting Dog Goes on a Cruise_ through the Tag learning system from LeapFrog. When T. saw it, he knew he needed the pen-shaped reader, which he got, and waited extremely impatiently while R. downloaded the audio into it. A little while later, he sat down in his Elmo chair and listened to the whole book through. Twice. Shocking, really.
We're still trying to figure out how Father goes to play golf on a cruise ship. I think it must be mini golf.
We got our photographs from the photographer who took our pictures in the park in October. I need to go address envelopes so we can send them out.
