Obama lived in Seattle

http://www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/News/View/66

When he was a little baby, he lived at 516 13TH AVE E, Seattle, Washington, which is a few blocks west of the Hopvine for those who have lived on Cap Hill. The link describing the location and time frame includes a photo of the property.

I was over at the archives hoping the Skagit marriage records had finally been put up (they are listed as "coming soon") and saw the article. I lived for several years less than a mile from that location, altho obviously decades after the future president had moved on.

I miss the Hopvine. If you go there and have a beer and a sandwich, think of me.

I was in utero part of that time, about six-tenths of a mile from there. My mother used to shop on 15th a fair amount. I wouldn't be surprised if she and Ann Dunham saw each other at least once. The house looks very familiar, but of course there were a lot like that.

I've told you that my old high school philosophy teacher (who was a huge influence on me -- I can go on all day about him) was one of Ann Dunham's teachers at Mercer Island High, haven't I? You can see him talking about her on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGeJFW2SgaE He's also quoted in the recent biography by Janny Scott.
