Monday: farm share delivery
This has really gotten totally out of hand. Fortunately, I think this is the first of three deliveries like that and then it’ll be more reasonable.
Let me just say: it is _so_ _so_ _so_ easy to rhapsodically advocate for eating seasonally. And yet, when actually confronted with four boxes of seasonality, it is daunting.
Today’s boxes: tomatoes, corn (10 cobs) and fruit (nectarine and peaches), mushrooms, and the regular farm share box. The regular box contained Even More Tomatoes and Even More Mushrooms. But also kale, lettuce, peppers, garlic and I forget what all else.
I’m making corn stock with the cobs from R.’s dinner. Pretty sure some of those tomatoes are going to turn into sauce.
I took the kids to the dentist.
A. had her last swimming lesson.
Also, the weird thing I made with sourdough and walnuts is actually fairly close to a galette. If I had folded the edges over, it would be. And it is way better on day 2.
ETA: Also, the Lego pyramid arrived. I am so excited! I need to finish the Jazz Quartet first, tho.
