Friday’s Activities Include: Game Night at McT
A. has been all over trying the various evening activities at her new school. Today it was (board) game night. Free to play (demos), games to buy (all seem to be Gamewright? Lots of games I’ve never heard of making me wonder if this is like Usborne, but for games), slices of pizza and fifty cent bottles of water. There were some kids around who have done this a lot acting as “game ambassadors”. It’s always fun to run across kids whose social skills / communication skills are on a par with my daughter’s. We played a lot of “Zeus on the Loose”. There is a token that you can grab with a special card, by matching the top card on the discard pile, or by making the total of the discard pile so far be a multiple of 10. If you pass 100, whoever is currently holding the token wins the game. First player to win 4 rounds wins. Teaches basic addition / mental math and attention skills. Minor strategy involving the token and the special cards. Good game. We bought it.
We also bought “Dragonwood” but did not play it there. A. wanted to play more Zeus on the Loose when we got home. It does work for 2 players.
